Bonjour from Brussels,
We’v had four fantastic days in the wonderful city of Brussels, hope you like the photos.
The off street entry to our apartment for our 4 day stay in Brussels.
Looking back towards Brussels on our way to the Magritte Museum.
The Old England Building, a beautiful Art Nouveau building that houses the Musée des Instruments de Musique.
We also visited the EU Parliament, elections have only just been held and now begins the next five year term.
The train station was very quite as all Belgian trains had stopped due to a 24 hour strike.Looking down from the viewers gallery of the debating chamber known as the Hemicycle. Signs at the beginning of the tour said there was no photography allowed. On our visit there were more cameras and flashes going off than on a busy day at Tokyo Airport.
Flag wavers and fireworks entertained the masses in the Grand Place, as part of a re-enactment of life and celebrations in medieval times.
This was the sight of the Expo held in Brussels in 1958. There is a great ride to the top in a lift that has a glass roof, the photo on the right is a view up the lift shaft as we were coming down!
The largest covered arcade in Europe (bigger than Milan) An amazing building to walk through. We had waffles and coffee while admiring the view.We had a wonderful four days in Brussels, a beautiful city and now we’re off to Bruges.
Great photos!!!!!!
